About

When I first came across the word Oaks, it was stamped on an old envelope containing a letter my grandmother had written to her parents while she was at summer camp. It was a cheeky letter, filled with stories of her days at a California lodge where she soaked up sweet summer days & nights, set off firecrackers after sundown, and celebrated a birthday she and her dear friends absolutely relished. I laugh every time I read it and always think of the magic she found herself in throughout her lifetime. Grandma Evelyn had a way of seeing beauty and joy in just about everything.

She also had a gift for creating spaces that felt warm and welcoming. Every room she designed was a reflection of her love for comfort, layered with treasures collected from her travels around the world. Without realizing it, she passed down to me her passion for interiors and the thrill of discovering special finds. After more than a decade as a brand photographer and navigating seasons of loss and change, I felt an undeniable pull to pivot creatively. What began as a hobby grew into something much more meaningful, and so, House of Oakes was born.

House of Oakes is about finding and sharing beauty, both old and new, just like Evelyn did. It’s a place where vintage collections are carefully sourced and shared with a community that appreciates the art of mixing past and present. It’s a space where playful, creative spirits are nourished, and where every collection helps turn a house into a home.

Caring for this space feels incredibly special. Not just for myself, but for everyone who finds joy in the search for that perfect piece. What a gift it is to pour my heart into this work and share it with others.

At House of Oakes, we value a slow, intentional approach - thoughtfully curating each piece as part of a bigger story. Whether here or online, we hope this place feels a lot like home.
